Haven’t had a chance to take these riding yet but when I received them I was really impressed. These are good looking boots. After trying them on and walking around in them, very comfortable as well. They are very stiff around the ankle but surprisingly easy to walk in with the double joint. Only time will tell if they hold up but I have no reason to think that they won’t.
When I first got these, they had some hot spots so I took em to the local ski shop for a fitting. $20 later they're literally custom fit for my feet.
Took em riding like an absolute idiot later that day. My feet, ankles, and shins were the only parts of me that didn't hurt at the end of the ride. Field tested the over-extension protection when I caught my toe and my foot pivoted on the peg. Tested impact protection on feet & shins eating lose stones when I was following.
Surprisingly water resistant as well, went through more than one puddle - pants sprayed but feet stayed dry until it started raining on the way home.
These are my first set of big-boy off road boots, so I don't have much to compare them against, but I'm very happy with the purchase, and feel much much much more protected than when I wear my Adventures.
as another review said Brian at atomic is great. Called twice to make sure of order details. On his advise Ordered a size 10 with is what I wear in Garne SG12. These fit tighter. I would say I'm a larger size 10. But an 11 would probly b too big. Nice and snug, feel broken in as soon as u put them on. They are tight around knee brace. I wear leatt x brace. Made a slight modification to shin guard and they are perfect,
Great boots and awesome service from atomic. Very impressed with the Forma predator 2.0s.
I have several sets of Forma boots. The quality, fit and features are excellent. These Predators at $339 are $200 less than compatible boots and in many ways better than those other boots regardless. I also own the water proof Forma Terra boots and they have become my go to boot for wet PNW riding. Forma'sare top of the line boots and Atomic is a great company to work with. Win/win.
I'm a hardcore Astars guy. I was looking for a better ventilated Tech 7 replacement and found Atomic Moto over on ADV Rider and then YouTube. I couldn't find a bad word about A.M. or Brian.
After a good phone call to discuss my sizing issue with the Tech 7, Brian had a pair of these on the way. My first ride was 200 mile off-road trip, and I never missed the trusty Tech 7 once. This was a fantastic swap, and it's absolutely a better, more technical, and more comfortable boot.
I really enjoy the fabric on these. Just feels more stretchy and less rigid and nylon-y than most moto pants. Makes them REALLY comfortable.
Finally purchased a pair of the Gaerne SG-22 Enduro Gore Tex Boots.
I was concerned about sizing but Brian assured me that once I received the boots to try them on and walk around the house a bit to make sure they were the correct size. If they didn't feel right I could exchange them for a different size. Turns out the fit was just right. My feet measure 11" long, I usually wear a 10 or 10-1/2 (mens) but some shoes I take an 11. Well the SG-22 10-1/2 was just right in length and I am very please with the boots so far. I have only two rides to date but here is my impression thus far.
They are STIFF!!! Which is the exact reason I was looking at these boots, I'm 72 and my old bones don't heal the way they use to so I wanted all the protection I could get but still be able to walk around a bit. These boots thus far are just right. I certainly wouldn't go for any kind of hike but walking around is not a problem, sort of like ski boots but with a fare amount more flexibility.
Comfort wise they are good, I have narrow feet so I have taken up the space with a thicker sock but I have also worn them with "regular" thickness socks and they would be fine that way as well.
So far I am very please with my purchase and thankful to Brian for taking the time to email AND call me to discuss sizing, ultimately what he recommended was spot on.
One note though, these are BIG BOOTS and I had to adjust my shift and rear brake lever to accommodate them but easily done and I think that this is not uncommon when using "Off Road" style boots.
Thanks Brian! Thanks Atomic Moto!!
