Created with an extensive list of premium features, the Gaerne Dakar is perfect for Adventure Riders. Dakar Boots start with a TRUE fully pivoting mechanical hinge at the ankle. This hinge, pulled from the Gaerne Fastback off road boots, is made from plastic and wraps around the rear Achilles area, connecting both sides. This full sized wrap around hinge gives unparalleled support and flex. It also features a pivot at the second strap for comfort when flexing.  A large plastic heel counter attached to the hinge adds protection and support.

The boots are fully waterproof using a Gore-Tex waterproof liner, the finest quality available. The exterior of the boot is Gaerne's awesome oil tanned leather, which gives amazing comfort and feel. The sole is a wide, fully lugged Gaerne design, that is east to walk in and is attached via welt stitching. Extensive internal padding makes the boots plush and supportive. Dakars have that wide, comfortable fit that Gaernes are known for, along with a slim toebox that is easy to get under your shifter.  Two buckles plus Velcro mean these can be worn under pants or opened up to use with knee guards.

Good Fit

Straight out of the box, great fit. Ordered same size at my Gaerne Fastback boots. So far they are perfect walking around in the house. Will be able to ride in them after Christmas!

Completely happy

This was my first real pair of moto boots. I had used my steel toed work boots until now. I tried some other boots that I would have been happy with (BMW Venture Grip GTX) but they only go up to size 12 and were too small. I got these in a 13 based on Brian’s recommendation and couldn’t be happier. I’ll be coming back to Atomic moto for future purchases.

Great boots

Super comfortable with a nice roomy toe box. Easy to adjust both with the upper Velcro and the buckles. Definitely takes some getting used to in terms of working the rear brake and shifter, compared to the motorcycle trainers I’ve used until now. Many thanks to Atomic Moto for the very helpful sizing video, and for the personal phone communication from Brian before shipping.

Was looking for an adventure boot that slotted between my sidi cross fire Mx boots and my low sidi adventure boots. Something that offered shin and ankle protection but comfortable enough to spend all day in and walk in-I am doing a month tour in the Himalayan mountains and will
Live in them.
Right out of the box-they were super comfortable.
Brian at atomic moto nailed the suggestion. I normally wear a 10-10.5 sneaker but had to go the 46 size as they seem to run a tad small in this category

Great set of boots!

Gaerne Dakar GTX Boots: I have to see that I really liked them. I think that they fit very well. They are very comfortable to walk-in. I have some SIDI crossfire boots that work well with my hard-core motocross bike but that the car boots worked much better for my Kawasaki KLR and walking more often. Much more protection than the other set of boots that I have which are BMW Road boots. I cannot see too much about the degree of waterproofness as I live in the desert and have not had to do too many river crossings of late.
