My son Josh loves these boots while ripping around on his KTM 450 very well made and not bulky certainly will be getting a pair for myself.
Fast delivery and the boots feel great on trials bike so far.
I loved these boots except..... 😟 For the gum sole. It looks weird and was pretty low profile (a thicker sole lets me flat foot on my WeeStrom). Plus it seemed slick on my dry concrete sidewalk & drive though think that will improve wear. Considered getting them resoled but between other factors below plus cost the Formas made more sense. I also worried the leather would wear poorly under the shifter as there is no pad. I also thought these would breathe well but because there is some foam lining the breathability of the leather is compromised. The Formas breathe better. Finally I think the Forma buckles are sturdier. Stacy at Atomic-Moto made sure my return & refund was painless & prompt. Definitely like Bomber personal customer service!!!!
The most comfortable boot I have ever owned. I wear them in the desert on my xr400 and on the road on the V-strom. I'm a bit more conservative these days & they fit the bill nicely for my style of riding. If your jumping buses or dragging a foot at mach 2 you might want something a little more stout. Everywhere I go guys ask me what boot that is and how I like it. You will not be disappointed !
I have really wide feet. About the only shoes that are truely comfortable for me are Berkenstocks and Doc. Martens. I picked this boot because a few adv rider boards recommended this boot for a wide foot. First ride was 120 miles in the desert and they were excellent. No pinching or aching which I normally have.
Brian offers unparalleled customer service and I could not be more pleased with my purchase. Will be returning for all future moto needs.
Got these to replace Sidi Adv 2. The added protection can be seen and felt upon taking them out of the box and even more so when putting them on. The memory foam that firmly encases the ankle combined with the solid outer boot and hinge should keep the ankle as safe as possible. The stiff sole and firm but low-profile toe box will keep the foot from getting smashed. Despite having the feel of a ski boot, the SG-12 is absolutely walkable.
Should have bought them to begin with instead of seeking a compromise in the Sidi Adv 2.
I’m a 10 1/2 US in running shoes and 11 fit perfectly in both the SG-12 and Adv 2.
Thanks Brian, for taking the time to explain the differences and shipping these out very quickly. Looking forward to years or riding in them!!
With the help of Brian who called me on a Saturday morning helped with my decision. I had a couple boots in mind and these were on my short list. They showed up and I tried them on and they’re very comfortable and flex nice while walking. I think this boot offers the best blend of comfort, protection and value. I’m going to be very happy with them. They’re almost to nice looking to wear but I’m going to.
While dealing with Brian on this purchase it became obvious I was dealing with a highly knowledgeable, old school motorcycle guy. It reminded me of the guys I would talk with 30 years ago who knew the products, all the products. Tell him what you want and he'll tell you what you need. And it will likely be just that. There's value in this service. The SG12's are a heavy duty boot. To the point I was asking myself " do I need this much protection?" After breaking my leg at the ankle waring my old boots the answer was clearly yes. There are going to take some getting used to no doubt about it but you will have THE best protection money can buy. I can't compare to the Tech 10's because I haven't worn those. The Klim helmet Brian recommended is fantastic as well.
Brian suggested this helmet for the large opening, light weight and ventilation. It performed as advertised. Did my first race with it and had no issues. I didn't even notice it and that's what I want
